What if heroism was illegal?
In a dystopian city where saving lives could cost you everything, a young Black superhero risks it all to save a girl from a deadly attack. His selfless act sparks a chain reaction, inspiring her to train as a fighter to protect her family. But her determination drags the hero deeper into a world of dragons, demons, and corrupt powers—a world he’s barely survived.
Bound by a vow to never take a life, he must face mounting dangers and wrestle with the darkness within himself. Every decision could mean life or death for those he’s sworn to protect and the fragile world he’s desperate to preserve.
HEROIC was born out of Avery Write’s own personal struggles with depression, leading him to create the novel and hip-hop album, “Heroic,” which tells the tale of, Revenant, a young, black, sword-wielding superhero.
Inspired by his journey, HEROIC aims to connect others through the transformative power of hip hop, literature, and creativity. At HEROIC, we build a community where individuals connect, grow, and express themselves authentically.
